English Tourism Week: Visit us in Beautiful Bakewell!

Brewery News

By: Nicky Geraghty

In celebration of English Tourism Week and with more and more of us expected to be ‘staycationing’ this year, we thought this would be the perfect opportunity to showcase our Brewery and Taproom in beautiful Bakewell, in the heart of the Peak District.

The Taproom is just a few steps from our ‘Riverside Brewery’, our modern state of the art brewing facility which is now responsible for all of our core range beers. Within the Taproom itself sits the original ‘Hall’ brewing kit, which was relocated from Thornbridge Hall and re-commissioned earlier in 2021 where we now brew all our small batch, rotating cask ales from Monday to Friday.

The Taproom is open 7 days a week and features an enviable 16 lines of the freshest cask and keg beers from the Riverside Brewery and the Hall Brewery. The beer even makes it into our handmade pizzas, made on site with fresh ‘brewers dough’ every day.

We are also soon to launch ‘The Thornbridge Experience’, our brand new tutored tasting experience. Visitors will have the opportunity to hear all about the provenance and history of Thornbridge, to understand the different brewing processes between Riverside (keg, can, and bottle) and The Hall (cask) and to be guided through a selection of 6 of our beers all whilst admiring our working Hall brewery! You will even get a Thornbridge pint glass to take home with you!

With Thornbridge Hall just a five-minute drive away, you can make a day of it with a stroll through the beautiful gardens whilst spotting the inspiration for the various names and designs of our award winning beers, enjoy coffee and cake at Quackers cafe and immerse yourself in the birthplace of Thornbridge Brewery.

A visit to Bakewell may not be complete without grabbing yourself a Bakewell Pudding (don’t ask for Tart, you may not get served!), but it most certainly isn’t complete without a visit to our Brewery and Taproom.

Book a table at our taproom now.
